Application Form for Category A

    • The application deadline is 10th December, 2017.
    • After you submit the complete application form, please follow the link to submit application fee on Paypal or O'Pay (歐付寶). The non-refundable application fee of 4,000 NTD will complete the application process. 
    • Once application and pre-screening youtube video is submitted, the panel of faculty judges will review all the performances, and announce no more than 36 participants in the category A for the festival no later than 20th December of 2017.
    • The pre-screening youtube or online video requirement for category A is to submit at least two or more pieces in different styles for a duration from 15-25 minutes. We only accept piano solo performance, please don't submit performance in concerto or other form then piano solo.
    • After successfully being chosen as participants in the category A, each participant will receive bank transfer information for the tuition. The tuition will be 41,000 NTD.  If active participants wish to stay on campus, there will be an additional fee of 15,000 NTD per person for the accommodation. You can select this option in our application form. You can also email us at [email protected] to cancel this option after your application procedure. However, we will not accept cancellation after the 1st of January, 2018. Please note that the accommodation fee will be charged in full amount after the deadline of January 1, 2018.
    • Each Category has its own review process. For example, students who didn't get accepted in Category A will not be accepted to Category B unless the student applied in both groups. Students can apply in multiple groups and each group will be reviewed from our pre-selection jury panel separately. 
    • The participants in the category A will receive six 45-minute lessons, 5 from the international distinguished faculty or the artistic director and one from the star faculty from Taiwan. Participants in the category A will perform in one of the Promising Star Concerts. If participants in the category A decide to take part in the competition, the 15 minutes of their performance in the Promising Star Concerts will be judged. However participants have to be born after February 1, 1983 to be eligible for the competition.
    • The 1st prize winner from the competition will be granted a performance engagement to play one piano concerto with the Taipei Philharmonic Youth Orchestra at the National Concert Hall (2064 seats) in 2019/2020 season. The previous winners are not eligible for the competition.
    • The participants in the category A will also be granted one entrance ticket for the All Star Faculty Concert at the Eslite Performance Hall, Taipei.
    • If you wish to register as passive auditors, please fill in the passive auditor registration form from the menu.
    • Parents are welcome to accompany their children in the residence hall, and may freely attend applied lessons of their children. Students 14 and under must be accompanied by a parent in the residence hall for the festival's duration. However,  if the parents of the selected participants in category A, B or C wish to attend the entire festival activities and obtain the ticket of the All Star Faculty Concert they have to choose the option here in the application form to become full-time passive auditor for the reduced rate package of 6,000 NTD. It only applies to the parents whose children are successfully selected as active students in category A, B, or C.
